Today's Hottest Topic! CAB

WHAT IS CAB? WHY EVERY MEDIA HOUSE HAS A STRICT ON THAT?
CAB stands for the citizenship amendment bill, which is presented by the current central government and already passed in Loksabha! Today the government has presented the bill in Rajyasabha and the nation is waiting for the result.

But what this bill really do?
well, this bill helps the government to give citizenship to the refugee or migrants who were living in this country for more than 6 years, which was 12 years earlier.

So what's the problem? why there is so much havoc?

The most controversial part of the bill is that citizenship will be given to the people of all the religion except Muslims! The Bill seeks to amend the definition of an illegal immigrant for Hindu, Sikh, Parsi, Buddhist and Christian immigrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, who have lived in India without documentation. The main idea behind the bill is India is surrounded by Muslim countries where lots of minorities are also living. Centre says these minority groups have come escaping persecution in Muslim-majority nations as their human rights were violated there.

whereas, according to oppose the bill is not secular! The Ahmedia Muslim sect and even Shias face discrimination in Pakistan. Rohingya Muslims and Hindus face persecution in neighboring Burma, and Hindu and Christian Tamils in neighboring Sri Lanka. What will happen to them? It seeks to legally establish Muslims as second-class citizens of India by providing preferential treatment to other groups. This violates the Constitution’s Article 14, the fundamental right to equality to all persons. This basic structure of the Constitution cannot be reshaped by any Parliament. And yet, the government maintains that it does not discriminate or violate the right to equality.

Where the bill won't apply?
CAB won't apply to areas under the sixth schedule of the Constitution – which deals with autonomous tribal-dominated regions in Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, and Mizoram. The bill will also not apply to states that have the inner-line permit regime (Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Mizoram).
